Terms of Service

These Terms take effect as to you on the date you accept them, and the version, the text and the date and time you accepted are recorded in your account on the Your documents page. If your account is closed or suspended, you can still ask us for a copy of anything you signed by emailing privacy@triallantern.com or by using our request form; we will send it from our records.

Operated by RYZEIN LLC, a Wisconsin limited liability company ("RYZEIN," "we," "us," or "our").

Applies to: the controlled beta of Trial Lantern (the "Service").

FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. NOT MEDICAL ADVICE. Trial Lantern does not diagnose, treat, recommend treatment, or determine your eligibility. Results are preliminary, based only on information you provide, and must be confirmed by the trial's study team. Always consult your treating physician. This notice is repeated and explained in Section 8 (Disclaimers). The detailed medical-risk acknowledgments and assumption of risk live in the Informed Consent, Assumption of Risk & Limitation of Liability document, which is incorporated into these Terms (see Section 1).

In plain words

The binding terms are the numbered sections below.

How these documents fit together (read first)

These Terms of Service are the master agreement between you and RYZEIN for the beta. They set the general contract terms — your license to use the Service, the fees you pay and how billing, cancellation and refunds work (Section 16), the warranty disclaimers, the limitation of liability, dispute resolution, and governing law. They work together with the other documents presented to you at signup, each of which is referenced by these Terms and each of which you sign separately, on its own:

If a term in these Terms of Service conflicts with the Release and Assumption of Risk on a medical-risk or assumption-of-risk matter, that document controls. If it conflicts with the Authorization to Use and Disclose Genetic and Health Information on the scope of your genetic-information authorization, that document controls. If it conflicts with the Consumer-Health Privacy Notice, or with any consent you have given, on a data matter — including the scope and duration of any permission we have to hold, process or use your information, wherever in these Terms that permission appears — that notice or that consent controls.

If it conflicts with the Beta-Tester Agreement on a beta-participation, feedback, beta-confidentiality or beta-term matter, the Beta-Tester Agreement controls that matter — except that on fees, billing, taxes, price changes, non-payment, cancellation and refunds, Section 16 of these Terms controls, and the Beta-Tester Agreement so provides at its Section 6.3. On all other matters — who may use the Service and join the beta (Section 2); your license to use the Service; the warranty disclaimers; the limitation of liability; the indemnity; dispute resolution; governing law; fees, billing, cancellation and refunds (Section 16); and how your account or your beta participation ends and what survives it (Section 13) — these Terms control. The "FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. NOT MEDICAL ADVICE." notice above applies to every document in the signup flow and is not overridden by any of them.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

1.1 Affirmative agreement (clickwrap). You accept these Terms by ticking the box labelled "I have read and agree to the Terms of Service", which appears immediately below the full text of these Terms on the same page as the button you press to continue, and then pressing that button. The box is never pre-ticked, there is no control that ticks it together with any other box, and the button does not become active until you have ticked it. You are not agreeing by simply visiting or browsing. If you do not agree, do not tick the box and do not use the Service.

1.2 Electronic signature and records (ESIGN/UETA). You agree that your affirmative click is your electronic signature and has the same legal effect as a handwritten signature, and that we may provide these Terms and related records to you electronically, under the federal ESIGN Act (15 U.S.C. § 7001 et seq.) and the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act as adopted in your state. Before you agree, we provide the consumer disclosures ESIGN requires (including your right to receive records on paper, how to withdraw consent to electronic records, the hardware/software you need, and how to update your contact information).

We keep a durable record of what you agreed to, including the exact version and text, the date and time, and the affirmative action you took.

1.3 Separate signatures; what is part of this agreement and what is referenced. These Terms are one of several documents presented to you separately at signup. Each document requires its own separate signature; agreeing to these Terms does not accept any other document, and no other document accepts these Terms. Together with these Terms, the Beta-Tester Agreement and the Release and Assumption of Risk form the entire agreement between you and RYZEIN for the beta; the Privacy Notice, and the consents and authorizations you give, are not part of that agreement and are not superseded, narrowed or replaced by it (see Section 15.2).

Some of those documents require separate, additional affirmative agreement or signature (for example, the assumption-of-risk acknowledgment and the genetic-information authorization in the Informed Consent); agreeing to these Terms does not by itself satisfy those separate requirements.

1.4 Eligibility to contract. You represent that you are at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. Eligibility is addressed further in Section 2.

2. Eligibility

You may use the Service only if all of the following are true. By agreeing, you represent and warrant that they are.

2.1 United States residents only. You are a resident of, and are accessing the Service from, one of the fifty United States or the District of Columbia. The Service is not offered to, or directed to, residents of Puerto Rico, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, or the Northern Mariana Islands, or to residents of the European Union, the United Kingdom, or Canada, and is not intended for use outside the United States.

2.2 18 or older. You are at least 18 years of age. The Service is not directed to, and may not be used by, minors. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

2.3 Not available to Illinois or Wyoming residents. The Service is NOT available to residents of Illinois or Wyoming during the beta. If you are an Illinois or Wyoming resident, you may not register for or use the Service. Residents of every other state, and the District of Columbia — including California and Washington, who are admitted from the first day of the beta — may register if they meet the other requirements of this Section. No other jurisdiction is admitted during the beta.

2.4 You are signing for yourself. You represent that: (a) you are the patient; (b) you are 18 years of age or older; (c) you have the legal capacity to enter into this Agreement; and (d) you are the patient and are completing this yourself — no one else is ticking boxes, typing your name, or answering questions for you. We do not accept signups or signatures by caregivers, family members, representatives, or agents, even with the patient's permission. If you cannot complete signup yourself, you cannot use the Service during the beta.

2.5 Truthful eligibility information. We may rely on the residency, age, and eligibility information you provide to determine whether you may use the Service. Providing false eligibility information is a material breach of these Terms and a prohibited use under Section 5.

3. Description of the Service

3.1 What the Service is. Trial Lantern is an informational and educational clinical-trial discovery tool. It helps you and your treating physician identify clinical trials you may be eligible for, by comparing information you provide against publicly available clinical-trial listings and their published eligibility criteria, and it organizes the trials it surfaces by disease stage and by therapy type. For each trial it can show you which published criteria you may meet, the exact information it relied on, and the source, so you can see the basis for each match and discuss it with your doctor and the trial's study team.

3.2 Intended-use statement. The following statement describes the intended use of the Service:

"Trial Lantern is an informational and educational tool that helps patients and caregivers identify clinical trials for which they may be eligible, by comparing information the user provides against publicly available clinical-trial listings and their published eligibility criteria. Trial Lantern does not diagnose any condition, does not provide medical advice, and does not recommend, rank by clinical benefit, or determine any treatment, therapy, or course of care. Eligibility information is preliminary, is based solely on user-provided information, and must be confirmed by the clinical trial's study team. Trial Lantern is not a substitute for professional medical judgment. Always consult your treating physician and the trial's study team before making any medical decision or enrolling in any trial."

3.3 What the Service is NOT — during the beta and generally. The Service is not a treatment recommender, a diagnostic tool, a second opinion, or clinical decision support, and it does not tell you which trial is "best" for you. In particular:

You choose how the list is ordered. The Service applies no ranking of its own: by default it lists trials without any ordering that suggests one is a better fit for you, and it never orders them by clinical benefit or molecular fit. Where the Service lets you sort or filter (for example, by disease stage, therapy type, recruiting status, or phase), the order is yours to choose. No sort order is a clinical recommendation.

3.4 Preliminary and confirmable. Any eligibility information the Service shows is preliminary, is based only on the information you provide, and must be confirmed by the trial's study team. The Service does not determine your eligibility for any trial; the study team makes the final eligibility decision. Information about trials (including whether a trial is recruiting, its criteria, and its locations) comes from public sources and may be incomplete, out of date, or different from what the study team applies.

3.5 Your physician is the decision-maker. The Service is designed to support, not replace, your treating physician. Always discuss any trial, and any information from the Service, with your treating physician and the trial's study team before taking any action.

4. Your account and security

4.1 Registration. You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when you create an account, and keep it updated. The beta is limited in size; we may decline or revoke access to keep within our capacity or the eligibility cohort.

4.2 Credentials and multi-factor authentication. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. The Service requires multi-factor authentication (MFA); you agree to enroll in and use the MFA method we provide and not to disable or circumvent it.

4.3 One account; no sharing. Your account is for you. Do not share your account or credentials, and do not let anyone else use your account.

4.4 Notify us. Tell us promptly at privacy@triallantern.com if you suspect any unauthorized access to or use of your account, or any loss or compromise of your credentials.

4.5 Our security posture. We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards intended to protect your information, as described in the Privacy Notice. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we do not promise that the Service is "100% secure," "anonymous," or "de-identified." (See Section 8.)

5. Acceptable use and prohibited conduct

5.1 Permitted use. You may use the Service only for its intended, lawful, personal purpose: to identify and organize clinical trials you may be eligible for, to discuss with your physician and study teams. Your license is described in Section 7.

5.2 Prohibited conduct. You agree not to, and not to help or permit anyone else to:

5.3 Consequences. Violating this Section is a material breach and may result in suspension or termination under Section 13, in addition to any other remedies. Section 5 conduct is also the only conduct for which the limited indemnity in Section 10 applies.

6. Your data and privacy

6.1 The Privacy Notice governs your data. How we collect, use, share, retain, and protect your information — including your health and genetic information — is described in the Consumer-Health Privacy Notice, in the version and at the effective date shown on that document and recorded with your signature at Profile → Legal, which is referenced by these Terms as the version in effect when you accepted them. These Terms do not vary it.

Where a term of these Terms touches your information — what suspension does not do in Section 16.8, the payment record in Section 16.5, and what happens to your information when your access ends in Section 13.4 — the Privacy Notice and the consents you gave govern on any data matter and these Terms yield to them. If we adopt a new version of that notice, Section 14 applies.

6.2 Consent flow. The Service uses a layered consent flow (including separate, affirmative consents to collect and to share your information, a separate written genetic-information authorization, and our commitments that we do not sell your data, do not use it for advertising, and do not use it to train third-party models). Those consents are obtained, recorded, and described in the Privacy Notice and the Informed Consent, not in these Terms.

6.3 No waiver of privacy rights. Nothing in these Terms waives, limits, or conditions any privacy right you have that cannot be waived under applicable law. (See Section 9.4.)

7. Intellectual property and limited license

7.1 Our intellectual property. The Service — including its software, models, design, text, graphics, organization, and all related intellectual property — is owned by RYZEIN or its licensors and is protected by law. Except for the limited license in Section 7.2, we grant you no rights in the Service.

7.2 Your limited license to use the Service. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the Service during the beta for the permitted use in Section 5.1. This license ends when your access ends (see Section 13).

7.3 Your content. As between you and RYZEIN, you keep ownership of the information you provide (your "Content"). You grant us a limited license to host, process, and use your Content solely to provide and support the Service to you, as described in the Privacy Notice. We do not claim ownership of your Content and, as described in the Privacy Notice and the Informed Consent, your Content is not used to train third-party models (see Section 6.2).

7.4 Feedback. If you give us suggestions, comments, or other feedback about the Service, the terms governing that feedback — including the license you grant us to use it — are in the Beta-Tester Agreement, not in these Terms. (Feedback is part of the beta and is handled there.)

8. Disclaimers

PLEASE READ SECTION 8 CAREFULLY. IT LIMITS WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THE SERVICE.

8.1 "AS IS" / "AS AVAILABLE." THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RYZEIN DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE.

8.2 NOT MEDICAL ADVICE; NO PROVIDER–PATIENT RELATIONSHIP. THE SERVICE IS FOR INFORMATIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT MEDICAL ADVICE. Trial Lantern does not diagnose, treat, recommend treatment, or determine your eligibility. Using the Service does not create a physician–patient, provider–patient, or other professional treatment relationship between you and RYZEIN, and RYZEIN is not your healthcare provider. Always consult your treating physician and the trial's study team, and never disregard or delay professional medical advice because of anything in the Service. The detailed medical-risk acknowledgments and your assumption of the risks of relying on an informational, non-physician tool are in the Informed Consent, which is presented to you separately and which you sign separately.

8.3 NO WARRANTY OF ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR FITNESS. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE OR ANY RESULT IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, CURRENT, RELIABLE, OR FIT FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE. Trial information comes from public sources and may be wrong, incomplete, or out of date; the Service may miss trials you could be eligible for and may surface trials you are not eligible for. Results are preliminary, are based only on the information you provide, and must be confirmed by the trial's study team and discussed with your physician.

8.4 Beta software — changes, interruptions, discontinuation; NO service-level commitment. The Service is experimental beta software. It may change, contain errors or bugs, be unavailable or interrupted, lose or corrupt data, or be discontinued, in whole or in part, at any time, subject only to the notice commitments in Section 13.3. We make no service-level, uptime, availability, or support commitment of any kind. Nothing in this Section limits any refund or restitution right you have under applicable law, or any claim under a consumer-protection statute (Section 9.4(c)). Additional experimental-software terms are in the Beta-Tester Agreement.

8.5 Third-party information and links. The Service relies on and may link to third-party sources (for example, public clinical-trial registries and the public medical databases named in the Privacy Notice). We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, availability, or accuracy.

8.6 No security or compliance superlatives. We describe our actual security practices in the Privacy Notice. We do not claim the Service is "HIPAA-compliant," "anonymous," "de-identified," "bank-grade," "military-grade," "FDA-approved," "FDA-cleared," or "100% secure."

8.7 Scope of disclaimer. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above exclusions may not apply to you. In that case, such warranties are limited to the minimum scope and duration required by law, and the rest of this Section remains in effect (see Section 15.1).

9. Limitation of liability

PLEASE READ SECTION 9 CAREFULLY. IT LIMITS THE LIABILITY OF RYZEIN, AND OF THE PEOPLE WHO WORK FOR IT, TO YOU.

9.1 No indirect or consequential damages. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NEITHER PARTY WILL BE LIABLE TO THE OTHER FOR ANY INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, LOSS OF GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE, EVEN IF THE PARTY WAS ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES AND EVEN IF A REMEDY FAILS OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE.

9.2 Cap on total liability. Except for the matters in Section 9.4, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, RYZEIN's total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will not exceed the greater of: (a) the total amounts you actually paid RYZEIN for the Service in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim; and (b) $2,500.

For the purpose of limb (a), 'amounts paid for the Service' includes the Beta Fee and any tax collected on it, and excludes any charge for a paper copy of a document or record. If, at the time of the event giving rise to the claim, you have paid RYZEIN nothing, limb (b) is the cap. This Section 9.2 does not apply to any claim for death or personal injury, to any claim for gross negligence, recklessness, or willful or wanton misconduct, to any claim for fraud or intentional misrepresentation, to any claim arising from our failure to provide the security we describe for your health and genetic information, or to any claim under a statute that a consumer may not waive by agreement (Section 9.4). This cap does not apply, and we do not assert it, to any claim brought by a resident of a state whose law makes a clause limiting liability in advance null or unenforceable for that claim. In particular, it does not apply to any claim for physical injury, or arising from gross fault, brought by a Louisiana resident (La. Civ. Code art. 2004); to any claim arising from a violation of law brought by a Montana or California resident (Mont. Code Ann. § 28-2-702; Cal. Civ. Code § 1668); or to any claim to which Section 9.4 applies. (The beta Service is offered for a fee, which we will disclose to you before you incur any charge — see Section 16.)

9.3 Mutual application, and what is not mutual. The exclusions in Section 9.1 apply to both you and RYZEIN, in the same way. The cap in Section 9.2 limits only RYZEIN's liability to you; it does not limit your liability to RYZEIN. Your obligations under Section 10 are separately and independently capped by Section 10.3. Sections 9.1 and 9.2 apply to all theories of liability (contract, tort including negligence, statutory, or otherwise), and are subject in every case to Section 9.4.

Who may rely on this Section. For the purposes of Sections 9.1, 9.2 and 9.4, "RYZEIN" includes the RYZEIN Parties — RYZEIN LLC's member(s), managers, officers and employees, and the contractors and agents who do RYZEIN's work on the Service, in each case acting in that capacity — for claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service.

(The third-party service providers described in the Privacy Notice are not RYZEIN Parties.) Each RYZEIN Party may rely on Sections 9.1, 9.2 and 9.4 to the same extent, and subject to the same carve-outs, as RYZEIN LLC, and never to any greater extent, and the cap in Section 9.2 is one aggregate amount for RYZEIN LLC and all RYZEIN Parties together, not a separate amount for each of them. Nothing in this Section 9.3 makes any RYZEIN Party a party to these Terms (see Section 15.6), creates any obligation of yours to any of them, or extends Section 10 or Section 11 to them.

If this paragraph is held unenforceable as to any RYZEIN Party, it is severed as to that person only (Section 15.1), and Sections 9.1, 9.2 and 9.4 continue to apply to RYZEIN LLC.

9.4 What this Section does NOT limit (carve-outs). NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS OR EXCLUDES LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED OR EXCLUDED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW. In particular, the disclaimers in Section 8 and the limitations in this Section 9 do not apply to, and do not waive:

New Jersey residents: Section 9.2 does not apply to any claim that New Jersey law does not permit to be limited, as Section 12.4 states.

This Section 9.4 is a floor and not a list: any right, claim or duty that cannot be waived or limited is preserved whether or not it appears above.

9.5 No immunity; regulators and statutory rights unaffected. These Terms do not, and are not intended to, grant RYZEIN immunity from, or shift to you, any liability to a government regulator or for any non-waivable statutory claim. Nothing in these Terms limits the authority or rights of any regulator (including the FTC, state attorneys general, and the FDA), waives any statutory privacy claim, or relieves RYZEIN of any breach-notification or other statutory duty. Your agreement to these Terms is not a release of statutory privacy rights, regulatory protections, or claims for gross negligence or fraud.

9.6 Who this Section reaches. Section 8 and this Section 9 are an agreement between you and RYZEIN about claims that are yours. If a claim that was yours is later brought by someone who takes it through you — your estate, your executor, or your personal representative asserting a claim that was yours before your death, or anyone to whom you assign a claim with our consent under Section 15.4 — Section 8 and Sections 9.1, 9.2 and 9.4 apply to that claim to the same extent, and with the same exceptions and carve-outs (including every carve-out in Section 9.4), as they would have applied had you brought it yourself.

They do not apply to, and we do not ask you to agree on behalf of, any person who has a claim of their own that never belonged to you (Section 9.4(g)).

10. Indemnification (limited)

10.1 Your indemnity — narrow. To the extent permitted by law, if a third party brings a claim against RYZEIN that arises out of your own conduct prohibited by Section 5 (Acceptable use and prohibited conduct) — including, for example, (a) using the Service in violation of law or of a third party's rights, (b) providing information about another person, and (c) misrepresenting your identity, residency, or age — you agree to reimburse RYZEIN for the amounts RYZEIN actually pays to that third party under a final judgment, or under a settlement we tell you about before it is made, to the extent those amounts result from that conduct.

This is a reimbursement obligation only: you do not have to defend RYZEIN, and you never have to pay RYZEIN's attorneys' fees, defence costs, or any cost RYZEIN incurs itself rather than pays to the third party. This obligation reaches no conduct other than conduct Section 5 prohibits, and is subject to Sections 10.2 and 10.3.

10.2 What this does not cover. This indemnity does not require you to cover RYZEIN's liability for RYZEIN's own gross negligence, recklessness, willful misconduct, or fraud, or RYZEIN's own liability to any regulator or under any statute. We acknowledge that, against an individual consumer, this indemnity is limited in practical effect, and RYZEIN does not rely on it as a substitute for its own compliance obligations.

10.3 Your indemnity is capped. Your total aggregate obligation under Section 10.1 will not exceed the greater of (a) the total amounts you actually paid RYZEIN for the Service in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim — including the Beta Fee and any tax collected on it, and excluding any charge for a paper copy of a document or record — and (b) $2,500. This is the same amount as the cap in Section 9.2, and this limit applies whether or not Section 9.2 is enforceable. You are never obliged to pay RYZEIN's attorneys' fees or defence costs. Nothing in Section 10 requires you to reimburse RYZEIN for any matter in Section 10.2.

In plain terms: if someone else sues us because you entered their information or misrepresented who you are, you reimburse us for what we must pay them — never more than what you paid us, or $2,500, whichever is larger, and never our legal fees.

11. Dispute resolution — informal resolution, arbitration, class-action waiver, and jury-trial waiver

PLEASE READ SECTION 11 CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS HOW DISPUTES ARE RESOLVED AND REQUIRES MOST DISPUTES TO BE RESOLVED BY BINDING INDIVIDUAL ARBITRATION INSTEAD OF IN COURT, AND IT WAIVES CLASS ACTIONS AND, FOR ANY CLAIM THAT GOES TO COURT, IT WAIVES TRIAL BY JURY (SECTION 11.11), EXCEPT WHERE SECTION 11.11 SAYS THAT WAIVER DOES NOT APPLY. YOU MAY OPT OUT OF ARBITRATION AND THE CLASS-ACTION WAIVER (SECTION 11.7). THE JURY-TRIAL WAIVER STILL APPLIES IF YOU OPT OUT.

11.1 Informal resolution first. This Section applies to any dispute, claim, or controversy between you and RYZEIN arising out of or relating to your use of, your payment for, or our provision of the Service, or to these Terms — and to nothing else. Before starting an arbitration, you and RYZEIN agree to try to resolve the dispute informally for sixty (60) days after written notice. You send notice to privacy@triallantern.com (and we send notice to the address or email on your account), describing the dispute and the relief sought.

This step is a precondition to arbitration, and you may waive it and proceed directly to arbitration, to small-claims court, or — if you have opted out under Section 11.7 — to the courts identified in Section 12, at any time. We will not assert any statute of limitations, statute of repose, contractual deadline, or laches defence based on time that passes between the day you send your notice and the day the informal-resolution period ends. If we do not respond to your notice within thirty (30) days, the informal-resolution period ends.

11.2 Binding arbitration. If the dispute is not resolved within the informal-resolution period, it will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its then-current Consumer Arbitration Rules (including the AAA Mass Arbitration Supplementary Rules, as amended, where they apply), except as modified here. The Federal Arbitration Act (9 U.S.C. § 1 et seq.) governs the interpretation and enforcement of this Section. The arbitrator decides the dispute and may award any individual relief a court could award, including any remedy available under applicable law.

Any limitation on damages stated elsewhere in these Terms is a matter of substantive law for the arbitrator to apply, and nothing in these Terms limits the arbitrator's authority to grant relief. The administrator's fees are allocated between you and RYZEIN as the administrator's consumer fee schedules in effect when the case is filed provide: you pay only the fees those schedules assign to the individual — for a single demand, a filing fee that the consumer schedule caps (at $225 under the schedule in effect on the effective date of these Terms) and that the administrator may waive in the event of your extreme hardship.

RYZEIN pays every fee those schedules assign to the business, including its own filing and case-management fees, arbitrator compensation, and any hearing fee. The parties must pay any fee or cost required by the administrator within thirty (30) days of the date the administrator issues the invoice, and we will pay any invoice that is ours within that period.

11.3 Class-action waiver. YOU AND RYZEIN AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY CLASS, COLLECTIVE, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. The arbitrator may not consolidate or join more than one person's claims and may not preside over any class or representative proceeding, except as provided in the coordinated-filing procedure in Section 11.5. If this class-action waiver is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim (and only that claim) is severed and proceeds in court (see Section 11.6 and 15.1).

11.4 Public-injunctive-relief carve-out (McGill). Nothing in this Section waives, and the arbitrator may not deny, any right you have to seek public injunctive relief that cannot be waived under applicable law. To the extent a claim seeks public injunctive relief that may not be waived or compelled into arbitration under applicable law (for example, under California's McGill v. Citibank rule), that request for public injunctive relief is severed and may be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction, while all other claims proceed in arbitration.

11.5 Coordinated filings. If multiple arbitration demands of a similar nature are filed against RYZEIN LLC, the parties will follow the mass-arbitration or coordinated-filing procedures of the administrator's rules as in effect when the demands are filed. This Agreement does not add to or modify those procedures.

11.6 Small-claims carve-out. Either party may instead bring an individual claim in small-claims court if the claim qualifies and stays in that court. Bringing or staying in small-claims court is not a waiver of this Section as to other claims.

11.7 Right to opt out of arbitration. You may opt out of the arbitration agreement and class-action waiver in this Section 11 (but not the jury waiver in Section 11.11) by sending written notice to privacy@triallantern.com within thirty (30) days of agreeing to these Terms, stating your name, the email address on your account, and a clear statement that you opt out of arbitration. Nothing more is required: no form, no postal mail, and no other formality. If you opt out, disputes proceed in the courts identified in Section 12, but you remain bound by the rest of these Terms, including the jury waiver in Section 11.11, which applies to the court claims you may then bring.

Opting out has no other effect on your use of the Service. An opt-out you send is permanent: it continues to apply to every later version of these Terms that you accept, and you never have to send it again. If we change this Section 11, you have a new thirty (30) day period in which to opt out of the changed Section. A notice you send within the period is effective when you send it, whether or not we acknowledge it, and we will acknowledge it in writing within five (5) business days.

11.8 No effect on regulators or non-waivable claims. This Section governs disputes between you and RYZEIN, including a claim of yours brought through you as Section 11.12 describes. It does not bind, limit, or apply to any government regulator, and it does not waive any claim or right that cannot be waived under applicable law (see Section 9.4–9.5).

11.9 Severability of this Section. If any part of this Section 11 (other than the class-action waiver, which is governed by Section 11.3) is found unenforceable, that part is severed and the rest of this Section remains in effect.

11.10 Delegation. The arbitrator, and not any court or agency, has exclusive authority to resolve any dispute about the interpretation, applicability, enforceability, or formation of this Section 11, including any claim that all or part of it is void or voidable.

11.11 JURY-TRIAL WAIVER — IF A CLAIM GOES TO COURT. PLEASE READ THIS. IT GIVES UP A CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT. IF A CLAIM BETWEEN YOU AND RYZEIN LLC PROCEEDS IN COURT RATHER THAN IN ARBITRATION — FOR ANY REASON, INCLUDING BECAUSE YOU OPTED OUT UNDER SECTION 11.7 OR BECAUSE PART OF THIS SECTION IS UNENFORCEABLE — YOU AND RYZEIN LLC EACH GIVE UP THE RIGHT TO HAVE THAT CLAIM DECIDED BY A JURY, AND AGREE IT WILL BE DECIDED BY A JUDGE. You and RYZEIN LLC each confirm that this waiver is made knowingly, voluntarily and intentionally, after having had the opportunity to read this Section and to consult a lawyer of your choosing. This waiver is mutual: RYZEIN gives up its jury right on the same claims you give up yours.

Where this waiver does not apply. A California court will not enforce this waiver (Cal. Code Civ. Proc. §631). If your claim is heard in a California court, you keep your right to a jury trial in full. If you are a resident of New Jersey, this waiver does not apply to you, and we do not assert it (see Section 12.4). This waiver also does not apply, and we do not assert it, in any other state whose law does not give effect to a jury-trial waiver agreed before a dispute arises; in that state you keep your right to a jury trial in full.

11.12 Who this Section reaches. This Section 11 is an agreement between you and RYZEIN. It applies to a claim brought by anyone who takes that claim through you — including your estate, your executor, and your personal representative asserting a claim that was yours before your death, and anyone to whom you assign a claim with our consent under Section 15.4. An estate or personal representative bringing a claim of yours under this Section brings it as an individual claim; that is not a representative proceeding under Section 11.3.

It does not apply to, and we do not ask you to agree on behalf of, any person who has a claim of their own that never belonged to you — including a claim for wrongful death or for loss of society, companionship or consortium brought by your spouse, domestic partner, children, parents or siblings in their own right. Nothing in this Section affects a claim of that kind, and nothing in these Terms asks you to waive, limit, or agree to a forum for someone else's claim.

12. Governing law and venue

12.1 Governing law. These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Service are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, and by applicable federal law (including the FAA for Section 11), without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

12.2 Venue. Any claim not subject to arbitration and not brought in small-claims court will be brought either in the state courts located in Dane County, Wisconsin, or the United States District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin, or, at your election, in the state courts of the county where you reside or the United States District Court for the district where you reside, as of the day the claim is filed. That election is yours alone; RYZEIN cannot make it for you. RYZEIN consents to the personal jurisdiction of each of those courts for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service.

RYZEIN will bring any claim of its own against you — including a small-claims claim under Section 11.6 — only in the courts of the county and state where you reside on the day the claim is filed. Nothing in this Section 12.2 limits any right you have, under the Wisconsin Consumer Act (Wis. Stat. chs. 421–427) or under the law of the state where you reside, to bring a claim in a court closer to home. The arbitration in Section 11 takes place as provided by the administrator's rules, or by phone/video or in your home state where those rules so provide.

12.3 Your home-state protections still apply. Choosing Wisconsin law does not deprive you of the protection of any mandatory, non-waivable consumer or privacy law of the state where you reside. Where your home state's law provides protections that cannot be waived by agreement, those protections continue to apply notwithstanding Section 12.1.

12.4 New Jersey residents. If you are a New Jersey resident, the following provisions of these Terms are void, unenforceable or inapplicable as to you, and we do not assert them: the jury-trial waiver in Section 11.11, in full; Section 11.12, which reaches only a claim that was yours when it is brought by your estate, executor or personal representative or by someone to whom you assigned it with our consent, as to any claim that New Jersey law treats as belonging to another person independently of you (Section 11.12 already says so, and nothing in Section 11 is read otherwise for a New Jersey resident); and the limitation of liability in Section 9.2, as to any claim that New Jersey law does not permit to be limited.

Every other provision of these Terms is enforceable as to you in New Jersey, subject to Section 9.4 and Section 12.3. Nothing in these Terms waives, and no provision of these Terms may be read to waive, any right you have under the New Jersey Truth-in-Consumer Contract, Warranty and Notice Act, N.J.S.A. 56:12-14 et seq.

13. Term, termination, and suspension

13.1 Term. These Terms apply while you have an account or use the Service, and the provisions that by their nature should survive (including Sections 7–12, 14.3, 15, and 16.12) survive termination.

13.2 You may stop. You may stop using the Service at any time. To close your account, send a request from the privacy-request page at https://app.triallantern.com/privacy-request — which needs no account and no login — or write to privacy@triallantern.com. We will confirm your request and tell you what we will do and when, and we will confirm in writing when the closure is done. Closing your account is also how you withdraw from the beta under the Beta-Tester Agreement, and how you cancel under Section 16.9; if you have paid a fee, Section 16 says what happens to it. What happens to your information is governed by the Privacy Notice and Section 13.4.

13.3 We may suspend or terminate. We may suspend or terminate your access, in whole or in part, at any time — including if you breach these Terms or the incorporated documents, if you become ineligible under Section 2, for non-payment only after the cure period in Section 16.8 (thirty (30) days from the date of our notice), to comply with law, or to protect the Service or other users — and we may end the beta at any time (see Section 8.4).

Except where we must act immediately to comply with law, to stop a security threat, or because of your material breach of these Terms — meaning conduct prohibited by Section 5 (Section 5.3), false eligibility information (Section 2.5), payment fraud, reversing through your card network the charge for an analysis you have already received, or non-payment after the cure period in Section 16.8 — we will give you at least fourteen (14) days' advance notice, through the Service and through any contact channel you have designated with us, before we suspend or terminate your access or end the beta, and we will tell you why.

Becoming ineligible under Section 2 after you sign up (for example, because you move) is not a breach. Notice is not required for a change that does not remove your access. This is a commitment about our own decisions; it is not a service-level, uptime, or availability commitment (Section 8.4). If we suspend or terminate your access, or end the beta, whether any fee is refunded is at our sole discretion (Section 16.10).

If we terminate for your material breach, we keep the fee for any analysis already started and nothing else you paid.

13.4 Effect on your data. What happens to your information on termination, closure, or end of the beta — including retention, deletion, and how to request deletion — is governed by the Privacy Notice and applicable law, not by these Terms. Please see the Privacy Notice for your data rights and our retention and deletion practices.

14. Changes to these Terms

14.1 Every change requires your re-acceptance. When we change these Terms — any change, of any size — we will present the new version to you in the Service and notify you through the contact channels you have designated with us.

You must re-accept before continuing to use the Service; your continued use never counts as acceptance. Re-accepting a changed version does not undo an opt-out you have already made under Section 11.7, and a change to Section 11 gives you a new opportunity to opt out. Where these Terms reference a separate document whose version is recorded with your signature at Profile → Legal — including the Privacy Notice under Section 6.1 — we present a new version of that document for your acceptance in the same way, and your continued use after it is presented never counts as acceptance of it.

14.2 If you do not re-accept. If you do not re-accept, or do not respond, the Service locks until you re-accept or withdraw. Copies, withdrawal, and re-acceptance are always available at Profile → Legal.

14.3 No retroactive change to accrued disputes. Changes do not apply retroactively to a dispute for which a party gave notice under Section 11.1 before the change took effect.

15. Miscellaneous

15.1 Severability and reformation. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, it will be modified and interpreted to accomplish its objectives to the greatest extent permitted by law, or, if it cannot be, it will be severed, and the remaining provisions remain in full force. A court or arbitrator is authorized to reform (blue-pencil) any over-broad provision to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable. (Section 11.3's class-action waiver is governed by Section 11.3.)

15.2 Entire agreement — and what is not part of it. These Terms, together with the Beta-Tester Agreement and the Release and Assumption of Risk, are the entire agreement between you and RYZEIN about the Service and supersede prior agreements on that subject.

The consents and authorizations you give — including the Electronic Records and Signatures Consent, the Washington consents to collect and to share consumer health data, the Authorization to Use and Disclose Genetic and Health Information, the California genetic-information use and storage consents, the breach-notification channel designation and each per-source disclosure consent — are NOT part of this agreement, are not consideration for it, and are not superseded, narrowed or replaced by it or by any later version of it. Each is given separately, recorded separately, and may be withdrawn separately. A complete, current list of every document you have signed, with its version and the exact text you saw, is at Profile → Legal.

The order of precedence is as stated in "How these documents fit together" above.

15.3 No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it, and any waiver must be in writing to be effective.

15.4 Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account without our consent. We may assign these Terms only as this Section allows, and only on notice to you.

Any successor to or acquirer of RYZEIN LLC — through merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, receivership, or sale of assets — remains bound by these Terms and by every document recorded in your consent ledger at Profile → Legal, and may not use or disclose your information on broader terms without first notifying you and obtaining your fresh consent. A successor or acquirer is a new recipient of your information, and a new recipient requires your fresh, separate consent — whether or not the terms change. We will not transfer your health, genetic or genomic information, or the consents you gave, to any successor or acquirer until you have given a fresh, separate consent naming that successor or acquirer.

If you do not give it, we will not transfer your information; we will instead delete it or return it to you, at your choice, and we will tell you which options you have before the transfer. This commitment applies to a transfer by merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, receivership or sale of assets, and to a transfer of only part of our business.

Our policy on transfer. In connection with offering the Service, we disclose to you this policy: we prohibit the transfer of personally identifiable information about you to any person not affiliated with us, except to the service providers the Privacy Notice names (which process it only on our instructions and under contract), where the law requires it as the Privacy Notice's legal-and-safety disclosures describe, or with your fresh, separate consent naming that person. This policy is in effect from the effective date of these Terms, and we will assert it as a disclosed policy prohibiting transfer within the meaning of 11 U.S.C. §363(b)(1).

On any bankruptcy or insolvency proceeding, assignment for the benefit of creditors, receivership, or dissolution of RYZEIN LLC, our policy is to delete your health, genetic, genomic and identifying information rather than transfer it, as the Privacy Notice states and subject to the one court exception the Privacy Notice describes; the Privacy Notice controls that policy.

15.5 Force majeure. Neither party is liable for any delay or failure to perform (other than payment obligations) caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, outages, network or vendor failures, labor disputes, or government actions.

15.6 Relationship; counterparty. Your agreement is solely with RYZEIN LLC, a Wisconsin limited liability company. No individual founder, officer, or employee is a party in a personal capacity. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, agency, employment, or — as stated in Section 8.2 — any healthcare-provider relationship.

15.7 Notices. We may give you notices through the contact channels you have designated with us, and we will use the channel you selected where you have selected one. Where another Section of these Terms requires a particular notice to reach you in a particular way — for example the change notice under Section 14.1 — that requirement controls over this Section, and posting in the Service alone is never enough for that notice. You give us notices at privacy@triallantern.com, including for privacy matters. It is your responsibility to keep your contact information current.

15.8 Contact. Questions about these Terms, and privacy questions: privacy@triallantern.com (see the Privacy Notice). Mailing address: 5737 Elder Pl, Madison, WI 53705.

16. Fees, billing, and cancellation

PLEASE READ SECTION 16 CAREFULLY. IT SETS OUT WHAT YOU PAY, WHEN YOU ARE CHARGED, HOW TO CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNT, AND THAT FEES ARE NOT REFUNDED EXCEPT AT OUR DISCRETION.

16.1 The beta is a paid service; you will never be charged an amount you have not been shown. Running an analysis during the beta requires payment of a fee (the "Beta Fee"); creating an account and connecting your health records do not. The Beta Fee is set per analysis and will never exceed $10,000 per analysis, exclusive of taxes (Section 16.6), stated and charged in US dollars, and is shown to you before you pay for each analysis. Before you are charged, we will show you the amount of the Beta Fee, what it covers, and when you will be charged. If we have not shown you a price, you owe nothing.

16.2 What the Beta Fee buys — access and computation, not advice. The Beta Fee pays for access to the Service and for the computational work of running an analysis for you: searching publicly available clinical-trial listings, comparing them against the information you provide, and organizing and presenting what it finds together with the published criteria and sources it relied on.

The Beta Fee does not buy, and is not a payment for, medical advice, a clinical opinion, treatment guidance, a ranking of trials by clinical benefit or molecular fit, a determination of your eligibility, enrollment in any trial, contact with any study team, or any health outcome. Paying changes nothing in Section 3 or Section 8: results remain informational, preliminary, based only on the information you provide, and confirmable only by the trial's study team; the ranking and sequencing features described in Section 3.3 are not available during the beta and are not part of what the Beta Fee buys; and paying does not create a physician–patient, provider–patient, or other professional treatment relationship (Section 8.2).

16.3 Billing cycle. The Beta Fee is a single charge for each analysis you ask us to run. You are charged only when you start an analysis you have been shown a price for. There is no recurring charge unless you have enrolled in an optional Subscription under Section 16.13. Outside a Subscription, we do not charge a saved payment method again unless you ask us to run another analysis and are shown its price first.

16.4 Your authorization to charge. By providing a payment method and agreeing to the fee shown to you, you authorize us and our payment processor to charge that payment method for the Beta Fee and any applicable taxes, on the schedule disclosed to you and for no other amount. You represent that you are authorized to use the payment method you provide, and you agree to keep your payment information accurate and current. If a charge is declined, we may re-attempt it, but every re-attempt is made inside the thirty (30) days that Section 16.8 gives you from the date of our notice, and none is made after you withdraw the request or after that period ends.

We will notify you of each declined charge through the channels you have designated, and each notice states the amount, what was declined, how to fix it, and the exact date on which that period ends. A declined charge is handled under Section 16.8.

16.5 Payment processing; we do not hold your card number. Payments are processed by Stripe, LLC ("Stripe"), a third-party payment processor. Your card details are entered directly into a payment form that Stripe hosts and are transmitted to Stripe, not to us; we receive back from Stripe only a payment token that stands in for your card, the card brand and the last four digits, the amount and status of the charge, and the name, email address and billing postal code you gave Stripe. We do not receive or store your full payment-card number or its security code. The processor handles your payment information under its own terms and privacy policy.

Charges appear on your card or bank statement as RYZEIN LLC, our legal name, not as Trial Lantern. Stripe processes your payment information for us under a written data-processing agreement and is named in the Privacy Notice (Section 4) with our other service providers; your separate consent to that recipient is obtained in the consent flow before we take any payment from you.

16.6 Taxes. The Beta Fee is exclusive of taxes. You are responsible for any sales, use, excise, or similar taxes on your purchase, other than taxes on our income. Where we are required to collect a tax, we will show it to you with the fee before you are charged and will collect and remit it.

16.6a Other charges. The only amount we charge you for the Service is the Beta Fee and any tax we are required to collect on it. One separate, optional charge exists and is not part of the Beta Fee: if you ask us for a paper copy of a document you signed, the Consent to Do Business Electronically — the first document you agree to in the signing flow — states the fee for that copy. That fee is never charged to the payment method you provide under Section 16.4: if you ask for a paper copy, we send you an invoice for the fee and post the copy when the invoice is paid.

Electronic copies at Profile → Legal are always available at no charge and without limit, and we never charge a paper-copy fee where the law requires us to provide the copy at no charge or where the document you signed says its copy is provided at no charge.

16.7 Price changes. The amount of the Beta Fee may change. A changed amount applies only to analyses you purchase after the change, at the amount shown to you before you pay; it never applies to an analysis you have already paid for, and never retroactively. Because you are shown the amount and charged only when you pay for an analysis (Sections 16.1 and 16.3), a change in the displayed amount is not a change to these Terms and does not require re-acceptance. A change to the text of this Section — including the $10,000 ceiling in Section 16.1 or the billing cycle in Section 16.3 — is a change to these Terms and is governed by Section 14, with the notice and re-acceptance it requires.

If you do not want to pay a changed amount, do not purchase an analysis at it; you may close your account under Section 16.9 with no further charge.

16.8 Non-payment, and what suspension does not do. If a charge for an analysis fails, the analysis does not start (Section 16.3) and you owe nothing for it. We will notify you of the failed charge (Section 16.4 states what that notice tells you) and will hold your request for thirty (30) days counted from the date of that notice so that you can provide a working payment method; if the charge then succeeds within that period, the analysis starts. If it has not succeeded by the end of the thirty days, your request lapses and you owe nothing.

A failed charge for a new analysis never suspends or closes your account, and never removes or restricts your access to an analysis you have already paid for and received. If any other amount you owe us under these Terms is not paid when due, we will notify you in the same way and give you thirty (30) days from the date of our notice to provide a working payment method, and only if it is still unpaid after that period may we suspend or end your access under Section 13.3, and only for non-payment of that amount.

Suspension or termination for non-payment does not change how your information is handled — that is governed by the Privacy Notice — and we will never withhold your own health, genetic, or genomic information from you, or the consent records described in Section 14.2, as leverage for an unpaid fee — and you may obtain a copy of your information at the Your documents page in your account, and request deletion of your information as described in the Privacy Notice, whether or not you owe us anything.

We charge no late fee and no interest on an unpaid Beta Fee, we will not refer an unpaid beta amount to a collections agency, and we will not report it to any consumer reporting agency. We also charge no fee for a declined payment, a re-attempted charge, or reactivating your access, and we will not sell, assign, or transfer an unpaid beta amount to anyone else for collection. Our only remedy for non-payment is to suspend or end your access.

16.9 Cancellation. Unless you have enrolled in an optional Subscription (Section 16.13), there is nothing recurring to cancel: the Beta Fee is a single charge for each analysis you ask us to run, and nothing is charged again unless you ask us to run another analysis and are shown its price first. You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time by emailing privacy@triallantern.com (see Section 13.2), and we will confirm within two business days. There is no cancellation fee, no early-termination fee, no retention call, and no step you must complete by telephone or chat. Cancellation takes effect when you ask.

Because the Beta Fee is charged per analysis (Section 16.3), there is no billing period to run to its end: cancelling closes your account when you ask, and whether any fee is refunded is governed by Section 16.10. If you have a Subscription, closing your account cancels it, and Section 16.13 states how a cancelled Subscription ends. Cancelling never delays your right to obtain a copy of your information or to request its deletion under the Privacy Notice (Section 16.8). When your access ends, what happens to your information is governed by the Privacy Notice and Section 13.4, not by this Section.

16.10 Refunds. Fees are not refunded, except at RYZEIN's sole discretion. We do not offer a refund window, a right to a refund on request, or an automatic refund in any circumstance, including an analysis that does not complete or one you are dissatisfied with; if an analysis does not complete, we may re-run it. If you have a question about a charge, write to privacy@triallantern.com. Any refund we choose to make goes to your original payment method, including any tax we collected on the charge.

A paper-copy fee (Section 16.6a) is not part of the Beta Fee; we refund it only if we failed to send the copy you asked for, or if you withdraw the request before we mail the copy. Nothing in this Section limits any refund or restitution right you have under applicable law.

16.11 Disputed charges. If you think a charge is wrong, contact us at privacy@triallantern.com and we will investigate and respond. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Fair Credit Billing Act or your card network's chargeback process, or requires you to come to us before using them. Any remaining dispute about fees is subject to Section 11 (including the small-claims carve-out in Section 11.6) and to the carve-outs in Sections 9.4 and 9.5.

A chargeback or billing dispute you raise with your bank or card issuer about a charge for an analysis you have received is a disputed charge under this Section, not a non-payment under Section 16.8: the period in Section 16.8 does not run for it, Section 16.8 gives us no right to suspend or end your access over it, and we will not try to charge you again for that analysis outside your bank's or card network's process.

16.12 Survival. Amounts that accrued before termination remain payable, and this Section survives termination as to those amounts and as to any refund we choose to make (see Section 13.1). Because you are charged when you start an analysis (Section 16.3), no amount accrues for an analysis we have not run; and for any amount that is unpaid, before or after termination, Section 16.8 states the only remedy we may use. As Section 15.5 states, force majeure does not excuse a payment obligation.

16.13 Optional Subscription — recurring charges only if you choose them. We may offer an optional subscription that, for as long as it is active, has the Service keep working for you between analyses: re-checking public clinical-trial listings as they change and, where you have connected a patient portal or other health-record source and authorized us to read it, re-reading that source on a recurring basis so that new information in it can be taken into account (a "Subscription"). A Subscription is never required to use the Service or to receive an analysis you paid for under Section 16.3.

What you are told first. Before you enroll, we show you the recurring amount, the billing interval, the fact that the charge recurs until you cancel, and how to cancel, and you enroll only by an affirmative action taken for the Subscription alone — never by default, by a pre-ticked box, or as a condition of anything else. Section 16.1 applies: you are never charged an amount you have not been shown.

Charging. Each Subscription charge is made to the payment method you provide under Section 16.4, at the interval you were shown, and is a Beta Fee for the purposes of Sections 16.4 through 16.8, 16.11 and 16.12. A change to a Subscription's amount or interval is a change to these Terms under Section 16.7.

Cancellation at any time, as easily as you enrolled. You may cancel a Subscription at any time, in the Service or by emailing privacy@triallantern.com, with no fee, no retention step and no call. Cancellation stops every future Subscription charge; the Subscription continues to the end of the period you have already paid for and then ends. Section 16.9 applies in every other respect.

Ongoing access to your records, and when it pauses. While a Subscription is active and you have authorized us to read a connected health-record source, we read that source on a recurring basis for no longer than the period of access you chose when you authorized it; the Privacy Notice (Section 3) describes this, and you can revoke the authorization at any time in the Service or at the portal itself. If the authorization lapses or is revoked, or the source stops answering, the recurring record reads pause and we tell you how to reconnect. The Subscription's other work continues, and so does its charge, unless you cancel.

Reminders. We will send any renewal notice the law of your state requires and, in any case, remind you at least once a year that the Subscription is active, stating the amount, the interval and how to cancel.

What a Subscription does not buy. Section 16.2 applies to a Subscription exactly as it applies to the Beta Fee: it buys access and computation, not medical advice, a ranking of trials by clinical benefit, a determination of your eligibility, or any outcome — and it is not a promise that any new trial will be found or that any new information will appear in your records.
